Atelier Kamiel Proost

Hello and Welcome,
I live and work in a very special place called Nieuw en Meer, a private art ‘village’ on the edge of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It is a compound of over a hundred studios we created in old army storage buildings that we managed to buy. Our ‘art village’ has painters, wood workers, welders, two music studios, sculptors, cooks, alcoholics, doomsday prophets, photographers, bee keepers, theater makers and a guitar builder. Since we are here for 30 years already (me only 23 years) children and even grand children have been born here.
My studio is sometimes a very nice and quite clean place with great light, but most of the time it is a chaotic walk-in for travellers, kids, neighbours and and other art lovers.
